The model

This roll-off platform is compatible with roll-off vehicles available on the market (e.g. Scale-Art®) in 1:14.5 scale. If required, the locking devices can be bolted in different positions so that the platform is compatible with various systems.

The solid welded steel frame is based on DIN 30722, according to which bodies for roll-off vehicles are constructed in the original. Here, for real roll-off frames, fixed corner points are specified with regard to dimensions and instructions for the structural design of the frame. For example, the main frame consists of two I-beams arranged in an L-shape (upper / lower chord: 0.8mm, web 1.5mm material thickness) with various doublings to increase stability in areas of high stress. One is the central area of the main beams, on which the frame rolls over the guide rollers of the roll-off tipper. Secondly, the area of the 90° angle at the front of the roll-off platform at the transition from the horizontal main girder to the vertical I-beam is doubly reinforced, as this area is subject to high bending stress during loading and unloading. The towing lug, which is engaged by the hook of the carrier vehicle, is formed from 3mm solid material and is supported by four reinforcing ribs for the benefit of stability.

The loading area, which can be accessed via two removable ramps, consists of individual stained beech planks supported by a rigid steel subframe. In addition, the edge areas are supported so that large loads can also be carried safely at certain points.

On the one hand, welded lashing eyes are provided on the frame side for load securing. On the other hand, 18 removable stanchions offer many variation possibilities. If the stanchions are not needed, they can be plugged into the front of the roll-off frame, as can the drive-on ramps, and safely carried along.

This kit consists of unpainted steel profiles and wooden parts. All parts are provided with various lugs for easy alignment to each other and are inserted into each other. The joining of the individual parts is ideally done by soldering or welding. Alternatively, gluing is also possible. Standard modeling equipment is sufficient as an additional tool.

Note: This kit is also available as a finished model in the color of your choice!

Assembly

The metal kit comes in individual parts. Most of the individual parts are inserted into each other for correct positioning, where they are welded, soldered, glued or screwed together. Before assembly, it may be necessary to deburr individual parts using files, for example, to ensure a perfect fit. Please note: we recommend welding or soldering this metal kit in any case. The kit can be glued, but the strength is then strongly dependent on the adhesive used and your own experience in the use of this adhesive!
