The model
This kit of a 20ft container is compatible with the Tamiya® container trailers and other container trailers for Tamiya container. Thus, you can switch between a 40ft and one or two of these 20ft containers on your trailer.
The Kit is made entirely of metal. The solid base frame with lots of folded sheet metal parts consists entirely of steel, all deep-drawn sheets (sides, roof, rear, doors) are made of aluminum. The fully functional and highly detailed door locking system is made of Alpaca (nickel silver) and is fixed with a plurality of M1-hex screws. With this structure, a high stability of the model with numerous distinctive details of a real container is achieved. In regard to the international accepted standard DIN ISO 668, standardizing real containers, this container corresponds therefore also in its scale. For example, the corner fittings also made of Alpaca are confusingly similar to the original. The position and size of the openings for forklift trucks are also chosen according to the standards.
Provided play scenarios for containers are all supply, loading and unloading operations. To fulfill these, the container doors can be opened with little effort to 270 °, for example to load the container with pallets. A special detail represents the hook of the door-locking system, which accurately represents the real life original in form and function. Larger loads can - for example by crane - are loaded easily from the top into the container. For this, the roof section is fixed by magnets and can be easily removed just with one hand without any tools.
For the design of the container, this kit includes large side sticker in the official design of Hamburg Süd®. This signature logo has been licensed specifically for COMVEC Container models! Further details are the other labels with signs and the container serial numbers. To make each model absolutely unique, each serial number - as in reality - assigned only once for a single container. Thus, each model is absolutely unique!

Assembly
The metal kit is provided in spare parts. Most parts will be insert able into each other for correct positioning and there will have to be welded, soldered, glued or screwed. Before beginning the assembly, it may be necessary to deburr single pieces by example with a file to allow a perfect fit. Please note: we recommend welding or soldering this metal kit in any case. The kit can be glued, but the strength is then strongly dependent on the glue used and the experience of using this glue!
